The Bomadi Elders and Stakeholders Forum (BESF) has endorsed the lawmaker representing the Bomadi/Patani Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Nicholas Ebomo Mutu, for re-election in the 2027 general elections, citing his remarkable performance over the years.
The elders and stakeholders who gathered in Ughelli, Delta State, Monday to discuss his performance over the years, emphasized the need to set the records straight about Mutu's representation of his constituents.
The meeting which was also attended by prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from within and outside Bomadi Local Government Area, applauded the lawmaker for his legislative prowess, particularly his efforts in securing developmental projects for all communities in the constituency.
Various elders and stakeholders who spoke at the event encouraged the lawmaker to continue to deliver the benefits of democracy to his constituents, emphasizing that he had played more of an executive role executive despite being a lawmaker.
The chairman of BESF, Dr. Deinghan Ray Macauley, in his speech, said that the purpose of the meeting was to analyze and deliberate on the developments in the Bomadi/Patani Federal Constituency and to establish a position on the forthcoming election.
"We have analyzed the performance of the current lawmaker, Hon. Nicholas Mutu, and we commend him for his admirable efforts to enhance the welfare of his people over the years.
"Continuity is not a crime, and Mutu's repeated re-election by his constituents is a result of his developmental achievements and human empowerment initiatives in his constituency," Dr. Macaulay stated.
Hon. William Angadi, the former Chairman of Bomadi Local Government Area, remarked that the people of Bomadi needed an experienced and well-connected legislator to build upon the achievements of democratic dividends in the constituency beyond 2027, rather than a novice who would need time to adjust to the system in Abuja.
"Mutu ranks among the foremost figures in Delta State politics, and we, the people of Bomadi Local Government Area, find it essential to present the finest among us to build upon the achievements of democracy in our local government area by 2027," Hon. Angadi declared.
Hon. Michael Seikegba, a national figure of the APC, in his address, described Mutu as a quiet achiever, emphasizing that the lawmaker has been proficient in his legislative responsibilities.
The Director-General of BESF, Hon. Pius Labo, noted that Mutu's support by his constituents stems from his accomplishments for his constituency over the years.
Others who spoke in a similar vein included Hon. Godwin Maze, Hon. (Mrs.) Flora Bripu, Barr. Labo, Hon. Jackson Okodozor, among others.
The highlight of the meeting, was the passing of a vote of confidence on the lawmaker for his commendable representation.
The forum also endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Gov Sheriff Oborevwori as their sole candidates for the 2027 general elections.
