Social and economic activities have picked up in the Ndemili community in Delta state after sixteen years of blackout occasioned by lack of electricity supply in the area.
The Community has also witnessed massive infrastructural development courtesy of the Ndokwa west local government .
Inspecting the electrification project and other projects across the local council area, the Commissioner, Directorate of local government affairs, Hon Prince Kelly Penowu expressed satisfaction with the quality of the jobs done.
He urged the Council Chairman to maintain the tempo and pace of development in the local government as it would impact positively on the lives of the people.
Conducting the Commissioner round the projects, the council Chairman. Chief Obi Nzete said his commitment to the execution of the projects was borne out of his love for his people and his resolve to alleviate their suffering through human and capital developments.
The Council Chairman said 15 kilometres of electrification was covered within the Ndemili town, as well as the purchase of electric poles and installation of 4 high powered transformers to power the light in the community.
The inspection team also visited the renovated Primary healthcare center at Emu-obodoeti, the ongoing fencing project at Emu-Uno as well as the renovated Ulogwe Isumpe primary healthcare center .
The team also inspected the Ultra modern Town hall at Etua Etiti, the Cottage Hospital with Doctors and Nurses quarters and the Legislative complex at the Local government Secretariat.
Speaking at the end of the tour of the projects, the Council Chairman, Chief Obi Nzete expressed deep appreciation to the Delta state government under the leadership of Gov.Sherriff Oborevwori and the people of Ndokwa west for their support and encouragement toward the actualization of the projects.
