The Ndudi Elumelu Campaign Organisation has dismissed allegations surrounding the Asaba Memorial Centre project.

It accused Chief Chucks Nduka-Eze of spreading falsehood and attempting to discredit the City Boys Movement over its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 election.

In a statement issued on Monday, the campaign organisation described a publication credited to Nduka-Eze in a national newspaper as misleading and politically motivated.

The organisation stated that the property recently donated by Elumelu in Asaba to serve as the Secretariat of the City Boys Movement belongs solely to the former lawmaker and was never part of the Asaba Memorial Centre project.

According to the statement, claims that the building belonged to the Asaba Memorial Trust or was constructed with funds meant for the memorial project were entirely false.

The campaign further refuted allegations that Nduka-Eze initiated discussions with former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, over the proposed memorial centre.

It alleged that Nduka-Eze only met Gbajabiamila as a former schoolmate and proposed that government acquire what he claimed was family-owned land in Asaba for the project.

However, investigations reportedly revealed that the land belonged to the community and not his family, leading to the abandonment of the proposal.

On the issue of the N450 million budgeted for the memorial project, the organisation maintained that the intervention project was facilitated by Elumelu as part of his constituency projects while serving as Minority Leader in the 9th House of Representatives.

The statement explained that although N450 million was approved and N383 million released, the funds were later returned to the national treasury after efforts to secure land for the project failed.

The campaign organisation accused Nduka-Eze of attempting to incite the public against the City Boys Movement and frustrate efforts aimed at supporting President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Describing Nduka-Eze as a known supporter of the Obidient Movement, the organisation alleged that he never backed Tinubu during the 2023 presidential election and was now working against pro-Tinubu political groups in Delta State.

The campaign organisation also challenged Nduka-Eze to explain allegations that his actions frustrated the execution of the Asaba Memorial Project.

It added that Elumelu and his supporters would remain focused and would not be distracted by what it described as politically motivated attacks.
